visa overstay

hi,i have been with my british partner for 4 years and i applied for unmarried partner visa,my original visa run out in dec 2011,i didnt reapply until aug 2012 for my unmarried partner visa.
the ho said i have no right of appeal plus they still have my passport can anyone shed any light on this

Under which immigration category did you gain entry clearance & when?

You mention that your original visa ran out in Dec 2011. What type of visa was this?

You say the HO have advised you that you have no right of appeal. Does this mean that they have come back with a decision on the unmarried partner visa application you submitted in Aug 2012?

It would help if you could clearly outline your immigration history (dates & immigration categories plus the outcome of each) from the begining until the present time, to get a clearer picture on what the next steps would be.
