ILR approved 23rd Jan 2013, Solihull PEO, WP

Post by ps2012 » Wed Jan 23, 2013 5:42 pm

HI all

My ILR was approved under the WP 5 year category.

I am glad to share my experience as a return to this wonderful forum.

Category: WP
- Sticker started Feb 20, 2008
- Entered the UK Mar 25, 2008.
- Booked the interview for Jan 23, 2013 (on the 28 days earliest limit)
- 221 days paid absence.

Documents:

- SET(O) form
- Passports (sticker is in the old one).
- 2 Photos
- Life in the uk test (was told got one answer wrong during the interview)
- 6 months payslips (was asked for the latest one)
- 3 months bank statement (was asked the latest one)
- Employment letter stating the POC, salary rate, a big list of absence (stated all paid), intention of continuing the contract (everything in one letter).
- One "driving in bus lane" penalty record (didn't cause any problem)

Traffic:

- Although it snowed occasionall, the major roads were clear of snow. I did use quite some window wash to remove the mud spreaded from the cars in the front.

The Solihull PEO was quite busy, so was called 30 minuetes later than the 10:30am appointment.
My case was the most straight 5y WP case so everything went very well and most of the time was waiting.

[Update]: Got the BRP card Jan27 (quick).

Thank you very much. :D

PS:
Received 8 appointment reminder emails from the ukba today (from 10:18 to 13:45) while I was in their office.......

Hi ps2012,

Heartiest Congratulations getting your ILR..I am really happy for you.

Were you not asked for Proof of Economic Activity over 5 years, P60S/EMPLOYMENT HISTORY?

Congrats. I am going to Solihull next Wednesday for the same category.

Did they ask you for P60's?

Did they question anything about absences?

Prepared 4 p60s, but wasn't asked at all.
I have been working with the same employer for the last 5 years - was in the letter.

Hi! ps 2012,

Thank You for your prompt reply.

How did your Employer include all the details in one letter?

May be P60s/EMPLOYMENT HISTORY ARE OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS. BUT ADVISEABLE TO TAKE ALONG TO THE PEO.Or the CWs have a facility in their sytem to check with HMRC of all the details.

Congratulations

Did u include the bus lane fine in your application. I sure it came as a PCN so not a criminal offence so did u mention that.

Thank you,MP

Hi MP,

You are right, it's a PCN and I did put it in the form.

The CW was very professional... just briefly skimmed over my form (seemed carelessly to me). She then suddenly asked me if I had taken the penalty evidence. She didn't have further questions after looking at the first page of the PCN.

Hi,

So did you tick yes to question 7.1 if you may remember,

I'm checking since I am going to ILR on Monday and had a Bis lane fine,so not sure whether to include or not. In the form they specifically say no need to include thugs such as speeding or parking fines,

So would appreciate if you can share whether you ticked yes to 'have you been convicts of any criminal offence' or did you put it under any other point.

Appreciate your feedback,

MP

Can yo tell me what you filled in Section 5, for Current rate of pay - was this your actual salary or the one from the SOC list. Please this would help a lot.

Hi,

I filled both (actual vs. required). But my impression was that the CW didn't look at it.
She only looked at my employment letter which certified the SOC fulfillment.

Hi,

Do they ask/check for the original work permit approval letter when deciding your application as i have lost it and i will be applying for ILR shortly?
Would it be ok if i dont have orignal wp approval letter but having p60 for last four years which was issude by the same employer and a letter showing my soc code, salary etc from employer?

Your reply will be highly appriciated.

Regards,.....
