Circumstances are different, so a success story in one case may not necessarily translate to a success in another.

Different posts and ECO, assess application in different ways.

Is this direct assendant dependent on you? and can you prove it? This is the essential question, apart from evidence of relationship, which is the starting point.

Thanks for you swift reply Obie,
I have birth certificate as prove of relationship with my mum. we used to live together (with my brother and sister both live in france now) before coming to uk. Im French national which i have got from my dad, my mum is Iraqi lives alone in iraq at the moment she is 61 years old
she is separated from my dad (for more than 20 years).
I do send her money through western union every month for last 9 months. and asked her to keep her reseats of medication, food, clothes that she buys with the money I send.
She is unemployed and lives in a house owned by my dad and wants to sell it now as he only kept it because we (his children) were living there. she used to be dependant on my sister but she got married and lives in France now.
Im work full time and have good salary so I have no problem sponsoring her. but Im worried that if they refuse eea family permit as dependant it will be difficult to apply for family visit

thanks
