Help needed - Tier 1 + spouse - indefinite leave?

Hi,

My wife has been on Tier 1 (general) for the past 3 year and we are now looking to renew this via the UKBA PEO (website, cost and application process - wow!!!). We got married 6 months ago and I am a British citizen.

Looking at UKBA and Gov.uk, it's not clear on the requirements/what the best route for us is - renew/move to spouse visa/combine the two etc.

My basic question is...

What is the quickest way to gain indefinite leave to remain or to gain citizenship (ideally without another £4k spend!).

We're on a tight timescale to move to the next step - current VISA expires end March.

If she switches to leave as your partner she will then wait five years for ILR. If she stays as a PBS migrant, she can achieve this in two. However, both the extension and eventual settlement application are subject to her points awarded for income.

Thanks for the v.quick response, we've spent the past 2 days trying to understand this from official websites! For the cost, they should AT LEAST feature a forum like this on the UKBA site!

Income is fine, just annoying that we can't combine her already 3 years here, and now have to pay 1800 (again) + go through this stupid appointment booking process.

One more question:

If she stays on Tier 1 and get Indefinite Leave to Remain, can she then immediately apply for citizenship as a spouse (ie. no 1 year wait) ?
