visa for visitor son of british mother

hi. my father is a british national .I was born in pakistan .when I got married in pakitan I applied for british passport and got it when my son was 1 year old. then l got 2 years visit visa of my son and came uk and started to work.during that period me and my son regularly visit pakistan after every 5 months . then I sent documets to my husband and he applied spouse visa from pakistan in april 2012 and got it in october 2012 . now he is in uk working full time. my son is 4 years old and his 2 years visit visa is going to expire on 4th oct 2013. now my question is , who is going to apply for him. husband or me. we should apply in which visa category. plz help me.

Irrelevant to ur question but I found a ray of hope after reading ur post I hope u would reply to my query... I actually have applied for my sons British passport on behalf of his father who us a British national by naturalization from Pakistan .. Do u kno how long it normally take for passport processing from Pakistan supposedly if everything n doc is correct? How long did urs take? It's been two months but haven't heard anything yet from BBC Islamabad .. They have my Pakistani passport with settlement visa stamped 2 n a half month back ... Quite frustrated about the whole thing ... Any info / help/ assistance would b highly appreciated ...
N for ur query I think u should post ur topic at thr british citizenship forum ... As far as I know u can apply for child's Dependent visa under the category of dependent of someone settled in the uk ... I think u can't apply for his passport directly cz he didn't fall in the category of British by descent ... not quite sure of all this ... Pm gurus n moderators here... Thankyou

thanks for your advice. I applied for british passport in august n all my process took around 8 months. I got my british passport in april. may be your son get passport earlier than this as my case is 5 years old. and now Islamabab embassey is giving fast service for straight forward cases. and in my opinion yours is simple straight forward case. I hope now u r satisfied.
