Attending board meeting as a business visitor

Post by daYZman » Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:34 pm

Hi

According to http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ctivities/

"You can also apply to come to the UK as a business visitor if you intend to carry out any of the following 'permitted activities' here:
...
* attending board meetings in the UK as a board-level director, provided you are not employed by a UK company (although you may be paid a fee for attending the meeting);
..."

Often directors are employed by the company they're directors of, then does that mean they cannot enter the UK for board meetings as business visitors? If so, what visa would be appropriate here?

Thanks

If you were one such board director, you probably would have lawyers who find these things out behind the scenes for you.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.
