ILR dependent for my wife and kids

Hi,

I was holding tier 2 work permit and stayed here from oct 2007. My wife and elder son were with me from oct 2007 as dependent. I had my second son born here and received his visa as my WP dependent. They went to India during may 2012 for some personal reasons. Now I changed my visa status to ILR during Nov 2012. My family is still holding WP dependent valid till Jan 2014. Now I am planning to bring my family back to UK and I need the following clarity. Please help me here,
1) Shall I bring them here with their current visa status and change their visa from UK
2) do I need to change their visa to ILR dependent and then bring them to UK
3) what are all documents and proof required for their visa
Please let me the best and cost effective option.
