Cooling period appl for Tier2 Gen.l Visa with same employer

I currently hold a Tier 2 General Visa. Please let me know incase any cooling period is applicable for me incase I obtain Cos from the same employer where I am currently employed after visa expiry ?

Cool-off period does not apply if you are applying/extending visa in-country(UK) . It is only valid for Entry Clearance applications.

Wait so what happens if a Tier 2 General migrant has extended their visa for maximum of 3+3 years (including extension) but cannot meet the ILR requirements due to whatever reason?

Can they make a fresh Tier 2 General application with the same sponsor without needing a cool off period outside the country?
