Owner of Limited Company, Employed or Self Employed?

Owner of Limited Company, Employed or Self Employed?

HI All,
I am a contractor, and operate my limited company, Get paid myself in the form of salary + dividends. And I am 100% share holder. My account said I am employed and owner but not self employed. But many people discussed in the forum otherwise. Could any one help me on this please.

Employed.
Bcoz you are withdrawing salary from your own company.

You are employed. I was in similar situation and was treated as employed by my own limited company.

Are you PAYE registered. then Yes you are employed.

Obviously your accountant might have registered you after you opened the company. Double check with him.

Its good if you can attach this PAYE registration letter when applying.

Also make sure your accountant puts this PAYE reg no in his letter to UK BA

I am in the same situation.

But with me there is a problem, which my accountant say is not.

I was drawing a salary from my limited company since May Last year but neither do my accountant nor me registered for PAYE, but we did registered later in December last year and paid all our dues for PAYE, to bring our book and matters in order.

Does this late registration affect me in any way.


In my case what document's do I have to attached in support of my applicaiton.

I will be showing the income from two sources.

1 - Salary from my full time Job
2 - Salary and Dividend from my Limited Company (Salary taken on same date of the month and Dividend taken on different date's)
