Britiish Citizenship referees

Post by fais11 » Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:48 am

Please can everyone share their experience of who they use as professional referee and how did it go?

Many thanks.

Plenty of topics on that. Step 1: You just find a suitable referee - check the official criteria, for example know you for at least 3 years (citizenship) and 2 years (passport) respectively, not related to you or to the second referee, must be of professional standing (see the official list) etc. Step 2: That person puts his/her info on the form. That's it. In all likelihood, neither you or the your reference will ever hear anything again.

just may be over thinking, does it matter if that reference has been used in another citizenship application as well by someone else

No. I would imagine that for certain professions (for example lecturers at universities with strong oversea recruitment) names re-appear quite regularly, and why not? Besides, reducing the number of available qualified references in that manner would be an entirely unreasonable impediment.
