What does the UKBA define a 'recent document'?

Post by orionnebula » Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:04 am

Hello,

A caseworker at the Home Office public office at Croydon, London, said that a supporting document (which is a financial support statement) issued in 2011 is NOT considered recent in 2013, and I have to submit a newer one otherwise my visa will not be extended. I already used the 2011 document in the first visa application in 2011.

Does anyone know whether the caseworkers' claim is correct? and if so, which paragraph of the UK immigration rules defines the 'recent document'?

Thanks in advance,

Orion

I can't immediately indicate a direct reference on this but it's not difficult to agree with a decision that a parent or guardian letter from 2011 may not be used in support of a bank statement in 2013. I think you should should get a recent letter to match the statement and if that is not possible then I would wonder why?
