Tier 1 (General) dependent and divorced - have a BBC

Post by sarrial » Mon Feb 04, 2013 5:28 pm

Hi

I am here on Tier 1 (General) dependent visa. Have spent 1 and 1/2 years in the UK on this visa. My partner has been abusive to me (have history of domestic violence) and now he has filed divorce in my home country. He has left the UK and gone back to home country.

I have six months old baby born in the UK. What are the options I have to extend my stay in the UK:

Can I get ILR once I complete 2 years in the UK (I hope HO will not ask me to leave the country immediately) based on domestic violence and divorce? My partner / ex-partner doesn't plan to apply his ILR?

I have no recourse to the public funds and do not work. There is 3 months visa option known as DDV. Should I go for it?

Are there any other humanitarian or compassionate basis I can use to stay in the UK? I do not want to go back as my ex-partner may cause harm to me in the home country.

BBC? What is the mean?
As your partner is not a british citizen or settle person in uk.
Therefore , your kid cant get british citizenship, is no way for you settle here base on your kid case.
But you can try humanity protection.
