Surname dilemma

Post by xyz111 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 12:08 pm

Hi,

Please could someone clarify on this point.

My surname is shown wrong on my passport. Actually my previous passport showed my name as First Name [A]+ Father Name , and no surname. When I renewed my passport within UK it took as my surname which is repeated on my BRP and driving licence.

I take it when I pass the test the letter will again say as surname. When I go for ILR application how will I explain it?

Thanks.

currently you have first name A and surname as B according to your passport and all other docs including BRP and driving licence .

up to now you were mentioning B as surname in BRP and other docs? Did not you notice when filling the application form for BRP and other?

you have two options

1) keep as it is now for ILR application and then fixed your name in passport in your Embassy the do a UK deed poll and request to change all the docs later

2) If you got enough time to fixed the passport now and a deed poll then do it before ILR

I would prefer option 1 . why you want to complicate the application?
