Original Copy- Child benefit

Post by Somudro » Tue Feb 05, 2013 3:49 pm

I am in ILR. I know I need to send the original Birth Certificate of Child for the Child benefit.

However, do I need to send original copy of :
1) My Passport and
2) BRP

or

Just photocopies of these 2.

Thanks for the help.

you need to send original birth certificate (detailed one)

and original BRP or Acceptance letter if BRP is not available.

i sent acceptance letter and color copy of BRP as my BRP was with ukba for wife's visa application. they accepted and returned it within 2 weeks.

In application form, it is said in the point 20 in Section 1-(About you)--"Please sent a copy of your home office documents to us with this form"
I want to send:

1) Form
2) copy of HO letter stating ILR
3) Copy of WIFE's passport
4)Copy of WIFE's BRP

Do U think, this will be ok? Pls.

Somudro, in the title of this topic, and in your opening post, you mention "..... for the Child benefit. "

Could you please explain your reference to Child Benefit. At this moment I simply do not understand.

Somudro, OK, I understand now.

As I see it the requirement to send the Home Office document is additional to the normal requirements, such as forwarding the child's birth certificate.

As a holder of ILR you need to send proof of that.

John, question was regarding original vs photocopy of the HO documents.

I know Birth Certificate should be original which is said explicitly . U did not read from the very begining of this thread.
