Workpermit and Tier 1 - Evidence for Business trip

Post by anandh79 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:17 pm

Hi,

I came to uk on 2008 on WP and converted to tier 1 on 2009.

As i will be applying for PR, have a clarification regarding evidence on absences.

When I was working on WP, i was required to travel to germany for couple of times.
Even though I am applying currently with Tier 1 visa only, do i still need to get employer letter for the absences I had during my WP.

I was working for a umberlla company and that company does not exist now. Let me know what i would need to do in this regard.

Regards
Anandh

According to the UKBA, you are required to submit a employer letter to confirm your annual leave and business related absences while you were on a WP. I submitted a enquiry prior to my application earlier this year, as I too was in a similar situation.

Note however that I didn't submit the letter as part of my application on the day of my PEO appointment and they didn't ask for it either. There have been some cases where case workers have asked for an employer and others where they haven't.

How many absences did you have while you were on a WP? If it was a small number I doubt it would become an issue.

Hi,

My total days off in UK did not exceed 180 days and have been only 150 days for the past 5 years.

Irrespective of this, would they still require the employers letter.

I have proofs of P60, payslips and NI contribution happened during that year.

Also, if i simply mention as unpaid leave, would i still be asked for proof.

Regards

How many of those absences were while you were on a WP?

I am also in the same situation. In my case i went to India on annual leave (Vacation) for 30-35 days on Work Permit (WP) where i was paid full salary. And then on Tier 1 visa i was out of UK for another 40 days.

Do i need to get any letter from old employer when i was on Work Permit?

Do i need to show any evidence of UK absence on Tier 1 visa?

Please help.

Hi cs95tdg

During my workpermit time, i had absences of 60 days where i went to India around November 22 and returned back to UK on Jan 14.

I have been on paid leave till mid of dec and unpaid leave till jan14.
