Absence Query

One of my friend is planning to apply for ILR but he is having long absence of more than 180 days at a strech. he is planning to apply on the in between days so that he can split the long absence per year from date of application, Please let us know your views on this.
Following are the dates:
From To Noof days absences
02/04/2008 01/04/2009 28
02/04/2010 01/04/2011 95
02/04/2011 01/04/2012 90
02/04/2012 02/04/2013 30

Long Single absence :
01/01/2011 03/07/2011 184

Planned application Date: 03/04/2013.

That's possible but depending on his current visa he might need to show proof.
