Car Insurance / Cheap rooms ETC...

Post by wiggsy » Thu Feb 07, 2013 5:49 pm

Looking further into moving to Ireland, I am actually looking at seeing if I could set up home perm in Ireland with my wife.

A few things that come up are:
Car insurance - im currently with SwiftCover, who will cover ireland for up to 30 days cover for my policy (at a fantastic charge of £40 quid for the 30 days - *im actually not being sarcastic, my policy was 500 for the year, so not a bad price for 30 days*

I think i may well go this route, then get car insurance in ireland for the remaining time.

Do anybody have any references on how to get some quotes for car insurance etc for in ireland?

Also, does anybody have any links to a website or other resource to find a job before arriving in ireland, and also to find a room etc.

Im looking now at sorting out wifes EEA permit and sons passport, then going on my own to sort things out (leaving house in UK "Set up" for the time being...)

if things look promising, then will end the tenancy on home and "sell up"/give away some stuff etc (be easier than lugging furniture abroad etc)

I know like gumtree advertises rooms in the uk, how about ireland... anything simular?

cheers.
