Suggestion on visa type

Post by gsumanth » Thu Feb 07, 2013 6:37 pm

Hello Members,

My wife and I received our ILR in Nov 2012. My wife is in India for the delivery of our child expected in May 2013. I believe I need to apply for Indefinite Leave to Enter visa for my child from India.

The visa processing timelines as listed on UKBA site is 50% of cases in 60 days and 100% of cases in 90 days which I feel is too long.

Is there an alternative to get the baby quicker to UK? (May be get the baby on a different visa type processing times for which are faster or is there any premium service)

Thanks,
Sumanth

If I am not mistaken your soon to be born child would be british by birth due to the fact of the parents being settled in UK at the time of birth of child.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

you are mistaken, the child would only be British if s/he was born in the UK to parent(s) who are settled.

To the OP, there is no other alternative other than your wife returning to the UK for the birth.
