Help - Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur

Post by kstallat » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:42 pm

Hello, I am new to this forum and I need help!!

I am currently on Tier 4 student visa and I have recently completed my LL.B degree from the University of Buckingham. My current visa is expiring on the 8th of April 2013.

I am intending to apply for the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa, I have gone through the guidelines provided by the UKBA website couple of times.

So far few things are not clear to me and I would need some help.
(1) Are there any restrictions to do any particular business or is open to do any kind of business? e.g. opening a restaurant or car showroom etc.

(2) My university is not included in the UKBA's authorized universities which provide the letter of endorsement. Will other universities provide me the letter of endorsement even though I have not graduated from them?

If they do provide the letter of endorsement to other students, do they charge and how early I should contact them?

Regards

If you took the time to read the graduate entrepreneur pages on the ukba website you would find your answer.

I'm currently in a similar position.

I'm a student at Birkbeck and would like to work on my startup in London. However, my uni does not participate in the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa scheme, which means they can't write a letter of recommendation (one of the visa requirements) allowing me to stay on in the UK for a year.

I've been told to try and ask other unis to sponsor me. However, all of the unis I have written to have said that their graduate visas are solely for their students only.

What are my options? I don't have the funds to stay on in the UK under a Tier 1 Entrepreneur/Investor visa.

@timbino,
this somewhat grumpy OP member last visited in 2013 and only posted twice

- there is no need to post repeated questions all over forum;
kindly stick with your new topic.
