visa in cancelled passport

visa in cancelled passport

Hi,I renew my passport but my visa which is still valid up to May 2013 is in old cancelled passport.can I travel and will I b able to come back to UK if I show my cancelled passport with my valid visa in it.my renew passport is empty at the moment...

Yes, just carry both passports with you when travelling.

Yes, just carry both passports with you when travelling.
will they let me in at heathrow or will they allow me on the flight back to uk

I'm not extirely sure I understand your question here. When entering the UK, at Heathrow or any other port of entry, the IO will need to see both your current passport and the one which contains your valid UK EC/LTR visa.

In addition to this, when departing the country you are travelling from, then the airline should also check that you have the correct visa to enter the UK. If not they may deny you permission to board the plane.
