Child Benefit Application

Post by genuflexion » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:18 pm

Hi All,

Thanks very much in advance for all your contribution.

I have recently got ILR for myself, my wife and my overseas born child.

Question 1;

Besides that, I have two more ukborn children. Therefore, I am applying for child benefit for all 3 of them and what I plan to send (after reviewing the discussion on this forum) is;

- Original passport for o/seas born child
- Original Birth Certificates for all 3 children
- Original HO Approval letter for ILR
- Photocopies of Father, Mother and O/seas born child's passport
- Photocopies of Biometric ILR cards of Father, Mother and O/seas born child

I am going to send all of the above with the form by Special Recorded Delivery with Self Addressed envelope tomorrow.

Please comment on the doc list above?

Question 2;

Now that we have ILR and I would be applying for british citizenship for my ukborn children, but, " CAN WE APPLY FOR/ACCESS ALL BENEFITS AND PUBLIC FUNDS (WE QUALIFY FOR), IF YES, WILL THIS HAVE ANY ADVERSE EFFECT ON OUR CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION 12months later"?

Job seeker's allowance, Housing Benefit, Child Benefit and Disability Allowance are the 4 main benefits/public funds I am concerned about.

Please contribute.

Claiming benefits that you are 'entitled to' wont affect your BC after 12 months

Just a quick question regarding the above,

They ask for all original documents, do these include passports and biometrics cards? I am bit sceptical to send original passports and Biometrics unless it is a must,

Please guide me if anyone knows this,

Rgds,

Child Benefit - documents to send:

1. Appli form (PDF online filled, printed locally)
2. Child birth certificate (long/short form) ORIGINAL
3. Supporting docs (Parents ILR approval and BRP card) - COPIES acceptable
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.
