marital status change on passport

Post by m.sheikh » Sun Feb 10, 2013 8:02 pm

Hi guys,

I am on Tier1 General PBS and I am about to get married and apply for my wife's dependent visa who is currently in Pakistan.

Is it necessary to change her marital status on her Pakistani ID card and passport before she can apply for the dependent visa?

thanks

It is not necessary as your marriage certificate will prove your marriage. But I have noticed that it certainly helps in applications. So if she has time then might as well do it.

thanks alot for a swift response, much appreciated!!!!

Is there anyone else who has recently applied without changing the marital status?

On the passport or ID card itself it does not say whether you are married or not.

thanks
