NQF level 4 Business Activity.

Post by AceVenture » Mon Feb 11, 2013 11:43 am

Dear all,

I have been following this forum and appreciate the efforts done here.

Coming to the point .. I m switching to a PSW < Tier1 Entrenuer.

Gonna show 50 k in my account.

After applying I am planning to buy a online business worth 50 K.

My query is whether Online Business ( ecommerce - eBay selling ) could be classified under NQF level 4 Business. Is there any online information regarding the business level classifications ???

I am not asking for job title classification ( SOC ) ... It's about the business activity classification.

I am sure that my confusion will come to an end here.

Awaiting your valuable feedback.

Regards.

AceVenture.

Retail (on-line or otherwise) is not level 4. In fact the only type of retail that is above level 3 is pharmacist.

Its not mentioned clearly in policy guidance. But I think you can change but still you need to given evidence in your extension application that you have invested 50k.

If you are going with £50,000 PSW sponsor route, you will have to show Graduate Business at NQF Level 4 or above. Company have to formed, advertised, etc etc... within 90 days before filing application. Tier 4 students cannot apply via Sponsor while in the UK. They have to go back and then apply.

In Venture Capital route, your VC firm will sponsor you for £50,000 and you can virtually open any type of business as their is no restriction. Everything has to be form after getting visa (within the next 6 months). Anyone with legal status (not dependents) in the UK can apply. However, Tier 4 students can only apply via this category, not sponsor.

About the sponsor money, if you are showing £50,000 funds, you have to invest it in your business. You cannot buy a building for £40,000 and then invest £10,000. It's not allowed as per the rules and will subject to rejection.

i just went through your post...and i couldnt help but asking, y cant buying a commercial property where we would be setting up our business be counted towards investment..be it 30k or 40k or 50...investment is related to buying an asset for your business...and buying a premises is an asset i believe...

u may be rite in what ur saying so i was just curious to know your point of view regarding investment...and where does it say in the rule that buying property will not count towards investment..please do specify...

BlackBirdSSG is spreading wrong information here. It is clearly mentioned in the Policy guidance of Tier 1 (E) that that buying a property will be counted as investment as long as the property is used for business purpose only and not "residence".
So if you buy an office or a flat for your business worth 50K GBP that would be classified as valid investment for extension.

Please people if you are not sure about something don't spread it.
