Post by east579 » Mon Feb 11, 2013 11:00 pm

My partner is an over stayer and is currently in the process of trying to regularize her status FLR(O) we have a child together who is British she is from Brazil and i am British born.

My question is we would like to get married is this possible? do i have to apply for a visa to be able to marry? does anybody know the process? i would appreciate any help with this matter.

The requirement to apply for permission to marry from the Home Office has been withdrawn. This means you are free to marry in a church of your choice or in a registry office even though you have no legal status. The registrar is required by law to interview you to ensure the relationship is genuine. You'll need to provide your passports for identification purposes.
