General Visitor or family visitor?

Post by lks » Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:42 am

Hi
Currently I'm on ICT Tier2 visa which expires in Nov 13 and I want to invite my mother in law for 3 months. Under which category should I invite her General visitor or Family visitor. As per change in rules if its people settled in UK can get their parents under family visitor visa?

I have done it in past under family visitor visa successfully in the past but it seems there is some change of rules here.

If I have to under General visa, can I still show myself as sponsor?

Can anyone advice on this?

She is eligible only for general visit. Sponsoring a visitor equates to providing financial and/or accommodation assistance. Yes, you may sponsor her if she lacks her own means.
