Post by miaamiasa » Tue Feb 12, 2013 1:18 pm

Can someone please help me with this issue. just wondering if It's OK to give two different bank statements one with 20000 and another one with 30000 instead of one and If I should attach a cover letter. The money has been in the account only for two days.

edit:All the bank account are in the UK and under my name

Thanks very much in advance

That is absolutely fine. But again there are scenarios:

First of all, to make things easier for yourself. Its better to keep all your funds into one single account. (if they both accounts belongs to you).

This will prove that you have £50,000 under your control in one single account.

You can also show two or more different accounts, as long as the funds are maintained on same dates. But again there is a loophole as UKBA has mentioned that statements can be upto three months old. Therefore, someone can show some money into one account on a particular dates, print out the statements/letters. And then transfer it to another account and get the bank statement/letters to make it total of £50,000.

But to make things clearer and easier, put money into one account. And why not, if they both accounts are yours.
Note: I do not work as an Immigration Consultant, but my advice comes from experiences and my opinions are my own.

Thank you very much for your reply. To be honest the main reason is I am very unhappy with my current bank and the only reason I havent changed so far is because of the visa. I just dont want to lock up another 20000 in the same bank for probably another 5 months or so

Better to put all funds in one account as mention by tuliprose ............ highly recommended

also if you are not happy with your bank than just keep maintenance funds with them as you need to have them in your account for 90 days and open a new bank account and transfer funds over. (Lloyds tsb are easy to get letters with balance and statement printout with stamps)
