he said they have sent it by mistake and after that UKBA contacted them and saying that you have one application pending what you want to do with it and my solicitor reply keep it pending because at that time i had received my acknowledgment letter but i have recieved it my solicitor is saying let them withdraw the application and i have recieved my psw refund aswell. i am confused which application they are considering at the moment coz i have psw and FLR m

Your solicitor has far more insight into this than anyone on the forum. Ask him to clarify the situation...after all, that's what you're paying him to do.

Variation of Leave – Tier 1 Post Study Work Application
We represent the above named person hereinafter called ‘the applicant’ in his
immigration in the United Kingdom.
We refer to your communication of 28/06/2012 with us in relation to our client’s
FLRO and Tier 1 PSW applications. We would like to confirm on his behalf; to
withdraw his FLRO application and consider his Tier 1 PSW application.
We also request to arrange for the refund of his £550 which was paid for his FLRO
application.
We hope this shall suffice.

this is what my solicitor wrote them and in response they withdraw my application and reply when withdrawing a application the fee for that application is retained. your client will therefore not be receiving a refund for this application.
