Citizen applications based on Irish marriage

Post by CitationCj2 » Thu Feb 14, 2013 12:03 am

Hi all,
I opened this thread for all the citizenship applications based on marriage with Irish spouse.

Could you please advise when did you apply, did you get an invitation or still waiting?
Please mention if you think your case is complex or straight forward( penalties, court convictions, trouble with garda, visa problems, etc.)

There seems to be a major delay with applicants based on the marriage with an Irish citizens, so we can discuss it here.
Thanks

Applied in Jan 2011
Lived in Ireland for over 10 years, irish kids, wife, homeowner, job,etc

Received letter of acknowledgment i think in feb 2011, and this was the last time i heard from Inis.
I phoned them a few times, got various excuses, nothing concrete yet.
Totally disappointed at this stage...

My husband applied in April 2009 (married to me (Irish Citizen), still waiting. Same excuse, still processing etc. etc.. every time we contact them. There is a visa issue which has added to the delay in the application but still no excuse that we are waiting 4 very long years. :(
