Travel from Ireland to India - how to get UK stamp

Post by rockwell31 » Wed Feb 20, 2013 9:04 am

I am in Tier-1, live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I planned to go India from Dublin. I can apply and get visa from Ireland for this transit.

But my doubt is, how this travel (UK to Ireland) get stamped in passport by UKBA? Between Belfast and Dublin, I think it is seamless border.

Please suggest.

Thanks,
Rw

No. This is first time. Hope you aware getting tourist visa for Ireland is easier if you live in Belfast, it is free of cost.

My worry is, in future when I go for Extn/ ILR with UKBA and they asked about the travel to/from Ireland is not stamped (with UK Stamp), will be big messy.

This is the reason I want to clarify before booking tickets.

Pls suggest.

Make sure you keep a copy of the travel document to prove that. There won't be any issue

You don't get a UK stamp by going between Ireland and the UK, it is a "common travel area".
