Visa Curtailment

Post by Assist_ark » Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:17 pm

Hello Guys,
Thanks for all the advice so far. Please, I will like to know. If my spouse reports to the UKBA about us separating (can't believe this could happen...hope not). Will I still be able to work at all?

I'm on a 2 years spouse visa and I haven't used up to a year yet.

Thanks in advance

They may or may not curtail your leave; if they do you have to leave. However, sometimes it's preferable for the UKBA to simply wait for the extant leave to expire as the migrant then have no valid status and must leave. This also gives a bit of time for the migrant to wrap up their life which may require legal proceedings in the family courts.

Thanks for that.
Curious, "They may..". Seen this around. Asides from having a family (kids). Are there any grounds that will make UKBA not curtail my leave?

Also, I'm guessing if they do curtail it. If you remain, you're deemed illegal, right?

Cheers in advance
