My husband is Egyptian and we have been married for over 3 years.
We applied for a family visitor visa for 6 months as my mother and father are unable to visit him in Egypt because my sister is disabled and my mother is her full-time carer so they have to be in uk for her.
My sister has never physically met my husband because of the difficulties with her traveling, we stated all this in the application.
We also wanted to visit my family because my other sister has just had a baby so we needed to go to see everyone.
So in the application we gave a letter of invitation from my parents and from myself.
We gave evidence that he will return to Egypt in the form of 2 property contracts and a letter from his work saying he can return to work with them on his return and details of how much he earns with them.
We sent my parents rental contract and a copy of their passports and mine.also our marriage contract.
We also gave them my husbands bank statements with a balance of the eqivalent of 4,000 uk pounds in my husbands bank.
In the letter of refusal they said they refused because:
1-we didnt include documents in relation to my parents financial status(on the application form we stated my husband will be paying all expences)so why they need their financial status?
2-we sent a copy of my passport but no evidence as to my status in Egypt.what do they need to prove this?
3-you have said you have 6 months leave from work but didnt state if its paid or unpaid.
4-the bank statement shows balance of 3,952 uk pounds on 28.1.13 however since 18.11.12 when balance was 251 uk pounds you have been making significant deposits into the account,(alot of egyptians dont use bank accounts anyway work places pay by cash mostly too so how do i prove its his money?
you provided no evidence as to the source of these funds and i dont find it credible that you accumulated these funds from your low income. They said he cant get this money from his income but he owns 2 prpertys so he managed to save up to buy these!!!!
I cannot be satisfied this money is for your exclusive use.
Given the lack of detail and supporting documents in relation to your wife and her parents situation i am not satisfied as your intentions for visiting the uk or that you will leave at the end of the specified period specified by you. How can they think he wont go back to Egypt when he has family there work there and 2 propertys there?
Neither am i satisfied that you can maintain and accommodate yourself without recourse to public funds or taking employment or will be maintained and accommodated by relatives and that you can meet the cost of onward travel.
Iam currently in Egypt with my husband.
pls can you give us any advice as to what we can do as we only have around 20 days left to appeal. thanks so much.
