Tier2 ICT to Tier2 general dependent

Post by jmdu » Mon Feb 25, 2013 6:29 pm

Hello,

Currently am working in UK with the tier2 ICT visa. and my husband has my dependent. Now my husband is planning to get Tier2 general from his employer so am planning to apply as his dependent. Now my question is when shall I inform my current employer about this change of visa ?
Before applying or can i inform my current employer after i get dependent tier2 general?

Thanks in Advance,

According to your previous post your T2 ICT visa expired in Jan 2013. Have you obtained an extension?

For the scenario you are enquiring about both you and your husband will have to return to your home country and apply for entry clearance from there. You will obviously need to obtain leave from your employer to do that and will need to estimate how long the trip is likely to take.

You may or may not tell your employer the purpose of your trip before you go but you must inform them once you return to the UK with a different immigration status as they have to inform UKBA.

Thanks for your quick response.

Yes, we both applied for extension an on Jan and its in process with UKBA. Yes, after we obtain this extension as you said we both are planning to return to our home country and apply for entry clearance.

So I can ask for a leave from my employer for a trip and after I enter with a different immigration status I can inform my employer about my immigration status change.

Thanks,
JM
