Very ImportanIndian Visa While OCI application is in process

Dear All,

In an unfortunate incident, my friend's father passed away. My friend has recently applied for OCI and he is having British Passport. VFS has said that since his application for OCI is in process, he won't be able to apply for Indian Visa. Unfortunately, he is unable to go to India to perform the last rites of his father.

Please can anyone advise what is the best way to get an urgent Indian Visa.
