Policia Nacional invitation letter urgent pls!

Post by cindycs » Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:28 am

Hello,

My partner is currently in the VFS office in Delhi and the person there is saying that because we do not have an invitation from the Policia Nacional in Spain that the embassy will not accept our request for Schengen visa for Spain.

I am UK citizen based in the UK but have work lined up for the summer in Spain. I have all documents to prove this. I would like to invite my partner to Spain from India to visit me for 90 days and I have ample savings to do this. The only thing is that I am not in Spain yet (work commences in May) and so have not got a letter from the Policia.

As he will be visiting me there he has ticked Tourism and Visiting Family and Friends on the application form. The latter requires this Policia letter.

Please can anyone advise on this??? I would be most grateful! Thank you.

He does not need any of that documentation.

He just needs his passport, your marriage certificate and a letter from you stating that you will be travelling together.

We are not married yet! This is for a tourist visa only.

To follow up on my previous post, directive 2004/38/EC applies to your case. The spouse of a UK citizen should receive with a free-visa issued on a priority basis. The Shengen form distinguishes these types of applications from others.

Ok, I hadn't spotted that. Unless you are a durable partner, the directive will not apply to you.

I'm sorry but don't know the answers to your questions.
