Earning Period ... Seniors Please Help

Post by rdamsel » Thu Feb 28, 2013 3:30 pm

Guys Help needed.

My Tier 1 extension application is due next month. The earning period I am showing is 1st March 2012 – 28th February 2013. ( 12 months )

However for this February 2013 I won’t get paid until 1st march 2013, so what period of earning should I mention on my application

1st March 2012 – 28th February 2013

Or

1st March 2012 – 1st March 2013

Please respond as soon as possible.

The latter is a year and a day, so is not acceptable.

Thanks for you reply.

But the payment is for February 2013 not march 2013 .... should i take letter from my employer explaining that the payment for February 2013 made on 1st March 2013?

Here is the full situation:

I am showing 12 month salary slips:

For March 2012 I got paid on 2nd April 2012.

For February 2013 – I will get paid on 1st March 2013

I am not sure how to put this on extension form .

Should I put like this

2nd April 2012 – 1st March 2013

And doing this I will be in 12 months period .

If you are a PAYE employee you can only claim for 12 salary payments. It sounds like the start of your period (1st March 2012) would be a pay check for February. Are you trying to squeeze 13 pay checks into the year? Because if you are, you can't!

01 March 2012 - 28th Feb 2013

or

2nd April 2012 - 01st march 2013

If you are claiming for 12 salaries that fall within the year, that will be fine. The payslip date never matches the statement date, but as long as there are only 12 payslips and 12 credits, you will not be refused.

If the first payslip is date 31 March 2012, why not call that the start of your 12 month period?

You can put 31 March to 30 March is you wish, and include all earning within that period.
