How & when are fees refunded after varying an applicatio

Grateful if someone could help me.

I varied my application from a SET M application to that of a FLR M application end of October 2012. The variation was done after realising that i should have applied for FLR M first b4 SET M.

Well, UKBA took new payment for FLR M rather than taking the fees from the already submitted fees for the SET M fees which was already paid, which this is what is stated on their guidance when varying an application.

Since then, i have not had a refund of the SET M fees, the only thing that has happened is that they did ask me to do a biometric even for the SET M application.

Should i request the refund? I have not yet received an outcome to my FLR M application, so should i wait or should i request the refund now?
