Surnames same on passport for EEA2?

Post by sg484 » Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:03 pm

Hi all,

Do you think it makes a more straightforward application if both the surnames on the passport are the same? We got married recently and wanted to apply after changing my wife's surname as she automatically derives my name after marriage in her country. Cheers.

It does not matter.as this is not legal requirement.

I wouldn't think that you and her having the same or different surname makes any difference what so ever.

Many counties where the spouse keeps her maiden name after marriage, and no provision to change her surname any way.
