Name for Naturalisation

Post by usr_2013 » Sat Mar 02, 2013 12:03 am

Hi,

I have a problem of my wife's name on the passport and birth certificate and hope a moderator or seniors would guide me.

My wife name is like below on her passport including on her ILR and all prior visa's

AAA BBB CCC DDDDDDD

DDDDDDD is the surname/family name
BBB - first name
CCC - Other names
AAA – This name she got from family hierarchy which indicates from which family back ground she comes and this is not a surname or other names.

Now in the birth certificate the name is like below, which is the away most of time she uses.

BBB CCC DDDDDDD

Basically we do not need to use AAA part as it is not a first name or other name. So in the AN application can we provide as below.

1.5 Surname/Family Name (Please note: The name you give here will be the name shown on your certificate so please ensure it is spelt correctly and you have written it in the correct order.)

DDDDDDD

1.6 Other names (Please note: Your name will be shown on your certificate so please ensure it is spelt correctly and you have written it in the correct order. We would expect this to be the same as on your official documents. If this name is not the name used on your current passport or travel document, or is spelt differently, you must explain why on page 13)

BBB CCC

And then explain in the page 13 that name AAA from family hierarchy and we do not need to use it for the naturalisation. If I explain it here, do I need to provide any additional proof.

Can seniors or moderators guide me please?

Thanks in advance
