Parents settlement from Pakistan

Post by michowdh » Sat Mar 02, 2013 1:19 pm

pls help under new rules as nobody has experience for applying under new strict criteria for parents settlement even solicitors dont have information! I have contacted few

I am British and my all siblings (2 sis and 1 bro) settled in the UK and want to sponsor our parents, me as main sponsor. father 68 and mum 58, they live alone in karachi and no relatives to look after them. they are financially dependent on me and they have been visiting us for last 15 years but they are frail now and especially my mother who has stomach ulcer and she gets really ill time to time and cant even eat let alone doing everyday job at home and my father is retired and quite frail.

pls advise what can i do for their settlement.

1) i am working since oct last year but my contract running out on 19th april (salary £35000) it extends at last minute for every 3 months
2) two bedroom flat, one room for me and my wife, one i spare as we dont have children
3) my siblings also want to sponsor them

That's a good salary! And with the additional help of your siblings (you mentioned) should more than enough to cover the cost of a home-helper in Pakistan; someone who can help them with their day-to-day needs. That's what you will be expected to do under the current immigration rules as settlement is only possible if:

You need long-term personal care to perform every day tasks, such as washing and cooking.
The care you need is not available in the country where you are living, either because it is not available and there is no person in the country where you are living who can reasonably provide it or it is not affordable.
