Applying visa 6 months before

Post by raomvj » Sun Mar 03, 2013 2:26 pm

Hi all,

My second Tier 1 general visa is valid till 27/09/13. My ILR is due in November 2014. As fee is increasing can I apply my ext before 6th April? It means 6 months before my actual visa due. Please advise.

Thanks
J Rao

Yes, I did that 5 days ago and got approval (my current visa was expiring after 8-months in October 2013). As my ILR is due in April 2014 thus I will be hopefully going to apply for ILR by end of March 2014 (28-days early than 5-years) to avoid another fees increase in April 2014.

Hi fslateef,

I assume you went through peo, If you can share, Do you have to provide any reasons for early extension or any questioning regarding that.

Appreciate your response.

Thanks

Yes I went to Cardiff PEO and shared my experience http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=128547.

They haven't asked any question about it and also they took at couple of days before giving decision as I got only 1 appointment (failed to booked appoint with 2-dependents) and Cardiff PEO accepts dependents as a family but can take up-to 10 days to give decision. But at-least in my understanding this is good to know for others as getting more than 1 person appointment is difficult thus 1 appointment can cover dependents also.

I hope this will help.
