Bank statements for self employed

I got married in feb 2012, i am a self employed taxi driver, i have earned about 19000 pound from april 1st till now, i get payed cash in hand, i have only started to reguraly use my bank from october 2012 till now, my solicitor is now saying that i have to provide bank statements from april 2012 till march 31st, i need to k ow if i can submit my wifes visa application with bank statements from october 2012till march 2013 (6 months) please help!!!
