Channel Islands part of the UK? This is actually quite complicated and if you are simply looking for a yes or no answer then the answer is no!

For example whilst the UK is part of the EU, the Channel Islands are not! But conversely a UK visa can also be used to permit travel to the Channel Islands, for example, for a holiday.

HSMP valid in CI? I have no particular knowledge and merely comment that it would not surprise me if HSMP is not valid in CI.

Ok,

One intresting situation has come up..

My Prospetcie employer wants to file a WP for me for CI..
My Q. is
1)Will having WP for CI cancel my HSMP visa?
2)Can i get an extension of HSMP considering that i havenot worked in UK(?) during my HSMP.

So in short , will working in CI cancel my HSMP/chanes of extension..

Sorry, if this is getting too complicated, but i never anticipated this kind os situation..

Ah that is easier to answer. HSMP is certainly valid in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

As regards your questions 1 and 2 above, sorry someone else will need to comment.

I have found a site for you which u can look into for your answers or call or mail at the address provided.
So far I have read, I agree with Jonh, CI dies not fall under the preview of HSMP and they have their own immigration laws. Have a look at this!

My suggestion to you, if HSMP is not valid in CI is that don't look from a short term perspective and better stay in UK as you have more opportunities there. Loosing HSMP for this job does not at all make sense.

The last time I looked in to this, I was informed that a HSMP visa issued by the UK is valid in the Channel Islands and a visa issued by the Channel Islands is valid for the UK. However, the problems can arise when applying for the extension as you have to prove you made efforts to live and work in the country for which you are applying for an extension.

This may have changed since the rules changed, especially regarding extension criteria.

You may want to contact the Channel Islands immigration service, contact details can be found in the following link:
