Yes it helps, I have the same situation with my PR and after MP involved only asking UKBA chief executive Rob Whiteman about the delay process on my application!! Rob Whiteman has replied MP, apologised and said I should get the decision with in 4 weeks I hope he says the truth.sara1991 wrote:Hi guys here I am again enquiring about my cousin's situation.
Basically he applied exactly a year ago ( March2012 ) and got his COA a month later but he's still waiting for his RC and it's already been a bloody year.
He contacted the MP on January 2013 who contacted the UKBA to ask about his application and obviously they replied telling the MP that they haven't decided yet.
My question is, does the MP have power to chase HO asking them to make a decision quickly ?? as it's already been a year where it was supposed to be only 6 months
If so, what could be the reasons that the MP normally give to the UKBA to convince them?
Please guys those of you whom MP's helped them get the RC plz share your experience
Hi Directive, if you have seen my letter from Rob Whiteman, what do you think?Directive/2004/38/EC wrote:Yes, the intervention of an MP can often get things going when you thought they were hopelessly stuck.
Nobody can give them specific or time frame, only can push them or complaint. This is UKBA in their word to protect United Kingdomsara1991 wrote:Thanks for replying. I know that after getting the MP involved the HO responds about your case but as I said they only said that they dis not decide yet. Here I am wondering if there is anyway the MP can complain about the delay or get the HO to act quickly about the matter rather than sleeping on it for a year
Can the MP strictly ask them to decide within a specific period of time?

1. Why is necessary to speak like that? I'm hoping you haven't written in that way to your MP.sara1991 wrote:Basically he applied exactly a year ago ( March2012 ) and got his COA a month later but he's still waiting for his RC and it's already been a bloody year.
If you can't express your anger without swearing, perhaps seek help. The only reason I'm pointing this out is that you may not be taken seriously if you resort to using inappropriate language to convey your point.sara1991 wrote:And why is it necessary to comment? If you didn't like the way I expressed my anger then you should not have read it , easy
And, no he hasn't. I don't think he knows how to complain
Complaint timeline (complaint was about the length of time it took to get our passports back - at the time of complaint, I still hadn't received the passports):sara1991 wrote: Thanks for your suggestions, how long did they take to resoond to your complain? And was it yourself that you complained or your Mp?
Hi flipper77, UKBA Chief executive has replied to my local MP and said that I would get an answer with in 4 weeks. Do you think it will be in that time frame or less or longer? thanks in advance.flipper77 wrote:If you can't express your anger without swearing, perhaps seek help. Regardless, the complaints process is cleary documented on the UKBA's website: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... complaint/. I'd certainly suggest using it, though it took them longer than necessary to respond to my complaint, once they did respond, my RC was issued within a week or two (and my complaint wasn't even about the length of time the RC application was taking).
Hi Hubba, how do you mean by formal complaint? did you write to them or emailed and to who? address and email addresses please?Hubba wrote:Just to add my experience here, my entire process took around 10 months. Things just got going after I've made a formal complaint. Got then an answer of the caseworker in less than 2 weeks.

The email address is as per the complaints link posted above. Rob Whiteman's address is Rob.Whiteman@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. A quick google search will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about him. (But yes, he is the CE of the UKBA).sara1991 wrote:Can you please help me with the email addresse's you emailed including Rob's plz?
Btw is Rob the Chief Executive ??
