ILR without Tier 1 (General) Dependent

Post by aqadeer » Mon Mar 04, 2013 11:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I'am in a bit of situation here,

My ILR is due in Oct-2013 and I had a new born in UK on 07th December, I wanted to know if I can apply for his ILR as Dependent with my ILR application in Oct-2013. I know that he'll be eligible for British citizenship once I have my ILR done but I have some important travel plans in Nov - 2013 and It seems that Child Citizenship registration takes around 3 months, can't wait untill its done. I'm thinking for going in-person for myself and family for ILR application.

My Question is: Whether is it a must that the my child should have his Tier 1(General) Dependent visa before being eligible for ILR or I can straight away go for ILR without applying Tier 1 - Dependent for him ?

Many thanks,
