Tier -1 general extension and self employed income query

Post by patelmilanb1 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:06 am

Hi All,

I am applying for my tier 1 general extension in June. My previous (12 months) earning till June is around £27000 from my employment AND i have a self employed income around £16000 from last April'2012 to till date. I am quite sure that my earnings meets the UKBA requirements.

My query is most of my self employed income is earned in cash. Me and my wife provides catering services and most of our clients deals in cash while others raise receipts. My accountant told me that he can prepare a accounting for self employed income and submit it to HMRC for tax filing.
He also told me that even if i don't have any transactions in my bank account and dont have receipts for those transaction, he can prepare a report(BS) and i can submit those reports to UKBA and it should not cause any issue and UKBA will consider my self employed income. Is that true?

I worry that my accountant is doing this for getting cash out of me and he is not actually aware of any UKBA guidelines.

Please help me to know if i can show cash earning accounting reports to UKBA or not.

arent you the same who started a thread few weeks back saying you are short of earnings?

never realised theres so much money in catering business, i think i'll start one myself 8)

anyhooz, regarding your query, you need evidence from 2 sources for all the income you earn no matter what, this should include bank statements, invoices, accountant letter et al
