Schengen visa for 1 month. WTF?!?!?!

Post by chssvi » Tue Mar 05, 2013 10:22 am

Hi all,

I wanted to ask around and see if anyone has had this same problem and can give pointers on how to avoid it happening again.

I've been living in the UK for about 2.5 years (Tier 2 visa) and before that I lived in NL for a bit over a year (Student visa). Since I've been living here I have applied for a shengen visa three times. First time was for the Netherlands and got it for six months, then I applied for France and got it for a year and just now I applied for Italy and got it....for a month!!!! I thought that visa duration was supposed to be incremental!

This is certainly good enough for the trip I'll take for Easter, but I was hoping not to have to worry about this for a whole year!

Well, my husband got one to france for 15 days. And he had a legal 'right' to a full schengan visa.
