Questionnaries and our attitude

Post by tumbleweed91 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 7:06 pm

Hi guys
I am writing this post in order to find out what is your opinion about sending/posting links to the questionnaires.
Honestly speaking, noone likes them for two major reasons:
-they are time consuming and the other thing is that the person who completed the questionnaire does not derive any benefits from it.
Soon, I will be forced to prepare such questionnaire regarding the perception of Polish immigrants by the British people (BA thesis). I've already started to worry because I will have to get at least 40 questionnaries completed and the only way I can do this is via the Internet.
I would like to know what is your attitude towards questionnaries. Are you reluctant to complete it or not?
Can I hope for any help when my questionnarie is completed? :)
Feel free to discuss :D

I like doing questionnaires, but they have to be set properly.

Questions shouldn't be leading and all the information should be available to people who complete it. These type of polls frustrate me.

For example, at my local station, they were polling on whether trains should stop running all the way through to Y and stop at X instead. They asked people if they would prefer trains going direct to station Y or if they would prefer to change at station X. Of course everyone answered that they would prefer direct trains.

What the poll neglected to mention, was the reason they wanted to stop at station Y, was so that they could run double the amount of trains to station Y than they could to station X, thus doubling capacity. If this was known, many votes would have swung the other way.
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.

Yes, this is often a problem when one is constrained to choose an option he would never choose just because the questionnarie lacks of the answer suitable for participant :/
