new UKBA SOC code impacting all tier 2 extensions and ILR

Post by felsof » Wed Mar 06, 2013 9:06 am

hi all,

UKBA anounced a change to the soc code and bringing the soc2000 to soc2010. As part of this they have also introduced an experienced and entry level salary threshold for all applicants.

When looking at the soc code related to my job which was 2132 under the old soc2000 system, my new job title is likely to fall in 2136 .
Looking at the statement of intent, I cannot see any job title descriptions under the new 2136. Does this mean any one whom is a software programmer ( code 2136) regardless of their position and job title will be able to apply as long as their salary is above the entry or experienced threshold depending on course if they are classed as entry or experienced migrant worker?

On the statement it says
the minimum salary rate for the job - usually this will be defined by the 25th percentile of the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) or by an alternative code of practice.

does above apply to the soc code or each job title within the soc code ? does it mean that salary of an experienced hire should be above the 25% of people whom work in that soc code or job title within that soc code?
This will also impact all new applicants whom apply to extend their stay or for settlement . all people whom applied after april 2011 are impacted.

All clarifications all welcomed
