Hi Everyone
I'm hoping to find some help from this community as I feel being let down by the officials and there's no bilateral communication channel open with them.
I have applied for a Short stay business visa to France a month ago. It took too long to take my passport back and I had to travel to US so decided that enough is enough. I asked for acceleration or withdrawal of my application. I've been told by TLSContact that my passport has returned but when I showed up they said French embassy is asking it to be sent back to them to issue the visa in two days.
Today when I got the passport back it shows a refusal and the reason is mentioned as threat to the public policy etc.
The point is I held more than 6 Schengen visas previously and I'm a resident of the UK and never had any history of crime. I'm concerned that this will leave a mark on my credibility in the future and affects my future applications.
So, the question is has anyone had this kind of refusal from French consulate in error and how likely is it to get a resolution if I appeal against the decision.
Any help or pointers are much appreciated.
Thanks
M

Whats your nationality - i am assuming your American? On what basis do you have UK residency? Is your spouse British? Are they traveling with you to France? If your spouse is British and they are traveling with you, then you have a legal right to enter and get a visa. The onus is on the embassy to prove in what way you are a danger to society or whatever.
The French are the worst people to deal with. Feel like throwing them all into the sea.

Americans do not need Schengen visas for visits.

They may have mixed you up with someone else or
identity thief may be a reason? Get clarification.

I don't think they mixed him up with someone else, I suspect it is identity fraud. If I was you I would request for more details because it may get you into trouble in the future
