Established presence 6 months course - money needed

Hello all

I've been in the UK on a student visa for many years. At the moment, I am doing a postgraduate course in a college, which hopefully, I will finish in June this year. This postgraduate course I am currently doing entitles me to do 6 months at certain universities in the UK (writing up a dissertation) and after completing this I will have a Master's degree. My question is: As my new course will be for (probably) 6 months only, will I have to have £6000 in my account (£1000 for each month) or will I have to have the usual £2000 as students who have an established presence? I am a bit confused and I am not sure if that rule for established presence applies to less than a year courses.

it sounds to me you qualify for lower maintenance as you are extending your visa to continue your existing course.
